A great quick read! Suspense and twists that I didn't expect. Awesome book! Loved this book! No mere enthralling page turner, but rather an obsessive one-night stand of a fixated read. Cole is a registered nurse and a writer of thrillers set in Seattle. After living in Australia for the last five years, Audrey has moved back to the Pacific Northwest where she lives with her husband and two children. But I'd taken the opposite side of the forked road and headed off looking for even more trouble, like a junkie constantly searching for the next high. Never would I have guessed that turn would lead me to her.
I couldn't stop thinking about her. She was an angel, a hard core, bone-fide angel and in her short life, she'd already had a taste of hell. Jacy: Despair. That was all I'd grown to know, until he showed up next door. The handsome, tattooed stranger had the kind of eyes that were hard to look away from, and he gazed at me as if we'd been friends or even lovers in a different life. He looked at me as if he knew me, and suddenly I had this flash of feeling as if I was right where I was supposed to be. Ledger chose the wrong path.
Jacy chose the wrong husband.
She quietly runs her coffee shop in the small resort town of Rockwood Beach while trying to forget the violence and pain in her past. Can these two broken hearts find love together? Can they escape their past lives? Or will buried secrets resurface and finally destroy them? This is Tess Oliver at her finest. I loved the world-building, characters and the slow romantic build up. This is one of those books that makes you want to read it again and again.

If you haven't discovered the incredible writing of Tess Oliver, I highly recommend this book. It's a standalone and really everything you could hope for in a romantic read. I am just in complete awe and have such tremendous admiration for this author to take such a unique storyline and weave such an intricate and delicate love story. For me, the back stories were handled with such care and tenderness, the author took her time and yet NEVER ever dragged out the storyline at all! The way the story unfolds was just magical in every sense and on every level.
Tess has the ability to write a unique story subject every time she puts words on the page. Her intriguing stories will have you "devouring her books in just one day".
